The MAC Team started as a family business in 1986; I lead it now. My home market is Markham and Unionville, mostly luxury resale, and I hold the CLHMS and CNE designations. Thornbury gets the same work a Unionville listing gets.
How we ended up here
We came up for the skiing, the way half the people here did: weekend drives from the city, then a club membership, and somewhere in there Thornbury stopped being the town we drove through on the way to a hill. We winter here now, and we have spent whole holiday months of the summer at Applejack itself.
That matters for a practical reason: I am here when the seasonal owners are here, I ski at Georgian Peaks as a member, and the people I share chairlifts with are the same people buying, selling and renting in this market. I know what a February morning at Applejack looks like because I have had plenty of them.
I say “as a member” deliberately: I do not speak for Georgian Peaks or any club, and nothing on this site is club information. What I can offer is what a city buyer should understand about how club life and the winter season shape this market - because I live inside both.
The Applejack part
I have been doing business in Thornbury and The Blue Mountains for over a decade, and have many happy clients in Applejack. Somewhere along the way I got properly curious about the community itself: five phases and the Woods behind one name - six condominium corporations once you get into the paperwork, decades of layered history - a genuinely interesting story that took real digging to piece together.
So I dug. Registered declarations from the land registry. The shared facilities agreement. Parcel registers. My own board data, aggregated properly. This site is where that work goes, written in plain English, with a simple rule: if I have not confirmed it against a document, I either flag it or leave it out.
